Heating and Cooling Repair on the Westside: One Call, Written Quote

Your furnace, your heat pump or your AC has quit, and you need heating and cooling repair from a crew that works the Westside and can look at both sides of the system. Westside AirCon Services repairs gas furnaces, heat pumps and air conditioners across Culver City, Mar Vista, Palms, West Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Venice. To get a tech booked, send the repair request and say what the system is doing.

What the repair runs

Heating first. A heating repair costs $229 to $580 depending on the part and access. That covers parts such as an igniter, a flame sensor or a gas valve, and it moves up when the part is harder to reach. See our heating repair service for what the visit covers.

Cooling next. On the AC side, around $800 in repair costs is where we set repair against replacement. Below that line, fixing the unit is normally the sensible spend. Above it, we put the repair number next to a replacement number, so you decide with both in front of you. Our AC repair service has the detail.

Either way, the tech diagnoses first and the quote is written before work starts. Every repair visit ends with a full safety check on heating, so you know the system is sound after we drive off. A written diagnostic report follows every AC visit.

One system, both jobs: the heat pump

A heat pump heats and cools from one unit, so a fault can show up in either season. On heat pumps we diagnose refrigerant charge problems, reversing valve failures and defrost cycle problems. If the unit runs but the house will not warm up, or it cools poorly in summer, the same visit covers both questions.

That matters when you are weighing a repair. A heat pump that fails in the heating season may also be the system that has to cool the house next summer. The tech checks it as one machine and quotes the repair on that basis.

Gas furnaces are separate equipment, so the faults differ. We track down ignition failures, heat exchanger problems, blower motor faults, fouled flame sensors and control board failures. If you smell gas, leave the house first and call SoCalGas or 911 from outside.

When a repair should become a replacement

Some failures do not belong in a repair quote. A cracked heat exchanger, a fault that keeps coming back, or a cooling repair that passes the $800 mark are the moments to look at the other option. We say so on the visit, and we price the repair and the new system next to each other.

  • Heating. If the furnace cannot be made safe, or the repair is large against a sound replacement, we quote a new furnace or a heat pump through our heating installation service.
  • Cooling. If the repair crosses the line above, the quote shows the replacement beside it.
  • Ducts. Wide old runs that cannot carry a modern blower push a job toward a different system, and the quote prices the duct work as its own item.

If your old unit can be fixed, we fix it, and we tell you plainly when it can. The decision stays with you, and the written numbers are what you decide from.

Parts, access and timing

Our vans stock the common parts for the major brands, so most furnace repairs finish in one visit. Access still changes the price. A furnace in a tight attic or a condenser behind a locked condo gate adds time, and the quote says where the time went.

In the Westside condos and apartments, tell us whether the building needs notice before a tech comes in. Where an outdoor unit needs the property manager's sign-off, we work with them directly.

We answer around the clock. A furnace going out on a cold night in Palms or West LA will not wait for a convenient appointment, and neither will an AC that quits on a hot afternoon. Same-day heating repair is part of what we do across the Westside.

Questions before you book

Can you repair both the furnace and the AC on one visit?

Yes, if both need work and the parts are on the van. Each system gets its own diagnosis and its own written price, so you can approve one and think about the other.

What does a heat pump repair cost?

The tech reads the fault first. Refrigerant charge, reversing valve and defrost problems price differently, so the number comes from the visit and the written quote, before any work starts.

Will you tell me if replacement is the smarter move?

Yes. When the repair is large, keeps repeating or cannot make the unit safe, we price the replacement next to it and let you choose.

Do I need to be home?

Tell us how you want to handle access when you book. We call 30 minutes out and work around your schedule.

Call to book the visit
